President Museveni rallies ugandans to plant trees and restore degraded environment
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has rallied all ugandans to participate in tree growing to restore land for climate resilience.
This was contained in a speech read for him by the Rt Hon Prime Minister of Uganda Hon Robbina Nabbanja as Uganda joined the rest of the world to celebrate World Environmental Day at Mafudu primary school in the eastern district of Sironko.
The celebrations were held under the theme Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience.”
World Environmental Day is celebrated annually on 5th June and encourages awareness and action for the protection of the environment.
Prime Minister Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah represented President Museveni as Chief Guest.
World Environment Day, established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972, serves as a global platform for raising awareness and promoting action for the protection of the environment.
