Museveni Praises Anita Among’s Efficient, Exemplary Leadership

President Museveni on Sunday well-defined Speaker Anita Among as a demonstrably efficient, progressive, unifying and exemplary leader in Bukedea, Teso and Uganda, consequently throwing all the accusations against the Speaker of Parliament to the dustbin of shame.

President Yoweri Museveni went to Bukedea district on Sunday to officially open the 21st edition of the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games at the Bukedea Comprehensive Sports stadium, constructed by the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among.

The President optimally used the occasion to tell the country what he makes of the Speaker.“I would like to thank the Rt. Hon. Anita Among and her colleagues for developing the new stadium at a reasonable cost and in a timely manner,” said Museveni.

After demonstrating that Anita delivered a magnificent sports arena in a short time and using little resources, Museveni then told the nation that the Speaker is the leader to be emulated.

“This (Bukedea Comprehensive Stadium) should serve as an example to others that we can develop similar stadia in other parts of the country,” Museveni said.

Adding: “I also thank Anita for being a quick and proactive leader, as demonstrated by her numerous achievements in Teso, which have contributed to the region’s development.

On top of being an economically progressive leader, Museveni also portrayed Among as leader with socially dependable skills like unity.

“Our Speaker is also as a unifying figure, who has significantly reduced friction in Parliament and strengthened collaboration between the Legislature and the Executive,” he said.

In her speech, Among revealed that Museveni gifted her with 200 cows a few years ago and she has since multiplied them by over 1000 percent.

“A few years ago, when I visited H.E. Museveni, he gifted me with 200 cows. I was happy to report to him that the flock has since grown to over 2000.

It is important for leaders to set an example and show the community ways to participate in the money economy,” she said.

Importantly, President Museveni also made it a point to visit the home of Anita and her husband Moses Magogo in Kamutur, Bukedea District. To crown the day, Among ushered Museveni to the mother of all crowds at Kongunga Primary School in Kachumbala County for an open rally.

In all his speeches in Bukedea, Museveni disqualified all accusations against Among including the claims of corruption and highhandedness.
