The Prime Minister of Uganda Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah has on behalf of President Museveni commissioned construction works for the 39Km Namagumba-Budadiri-Nalugugu Road in Sironko District.
The Premier was in Sironko to represent President Museveni at the world Environment day celebrations.
According to Nabbanja, European Union, the World Bank and Japan International cooperation will fund the 5 year project estimated at 129 billion shs including resettlement of affected persons.
The Premier adds that once the road is completed, it will improve transport access in the area by linking the population with economic opportunities.
Shandong Luqiao, a Chinese company will undertake the construction works.
This Project is aligned with Uganda’s Vision 2040 as it seeks to harness the Country’s potential growth opportunities in agriculture, tourism, strategic geographical location, and trade.
